The School of Law has a strong and active network of industry and alumni connections, including an Industry Advisory Board consisting of senior legal practitioners.
Our programs and activities are designed to meet the evolving needs of students and industry, guided by the Law Industry Advisory Board, which includes prominent alumni and legal professionals. This board advises us on the latest sector requirements, ensuring our offerings remain relevant and impactful.
We incorporate Work Integrated Learning (WIL) into our programs, enabling students to make a real impact upon graduation. This industry perspective not only enhances employability but also helps students develop social and professional networks within the legal sector during their studies.
By collaborating with industry, the School generates social impact and influences policy on legal and social issues. Our focus is on partnering with industry to create innovative solutions to socio-legal challenges, positioning our students as leaders in the job market and contributors to societal advancement.
Our industry partners support our Work Integrated Learning by offering placements to our students to undertake clinical legal education and legal internships. They also contribute to class discussions, give lectures and provide mentorship to our students.
Partners include Youthlaw, Anika Legal and Law, InTouch and Law and Advocacy Centre for Women (LACW).
The School of Law is based at the heart of the Melbourne City campus in the historic Emily McPherson Building (Building 13) within the College of Business and Law.
