Welcome from the Dean

RMIT’s School of Law is committed to shaping a future-focused, socially engaged legal education. As a standalone school within the College of Business and Law, we bring clarity of purpose and ambition to teaching, research, and engagement.

The legal profession is at an inflection point. Technology is reshaping how we practise law, deliver justice, and protect human rights. In our school, technology is central to our teaching and research, as we explore how innovation can strengthen justice systems, advance human rights, and expand access to legal services.

Our School has long stood apart through its practical, industry-connected approach. Our students don't just learn about the law — they engage with it. Through moots, clinical placements, internships, and partnerships with community legal services, courts, and legal practitioners, they develop the real-world skills that will define their careers.

We remain committed to creating and sharing legal knowledge with social impact. Guided by a focus on justice innovation, human rights, and technology — and through our centres, the Business and Human Rights Centre and the Centre for Innovative Justice — we continue to drive meaningful change.

Our students join a school that values innovation, inclusion, and integrity, while our alumni, community stakeholders, and partners enrich our teaching and amplify our impact.
