CLAUDIA SPEAKS: I think an engineer is someone who sees an opportunity ... where others only see a problem.
VISUAL: A robotic arm knocks over blocks. Jaweed is frustrated that his robotic arm is not working. Screen is split between Josie, Jaweed and Claudia, all who are facing challenges with their tasks.
VISUAL: Josie attaches propellers onto a drone but they are too big and keep hitting each other.
JOSIE SPEAKS: You might fail the first few times, but to get ahead you really need to challenge yourself.
VISUAL: Cut between Josie, Jaweed and Claudia opening drawers or cupboards to get additional materials. Claudia takes her structural component to a drilling machine and drills a hole into it.
JAWEED SPEAKS: The more you practice solving things, the quicker you get at figuring out how everything works.

CLAUDIA SPEAKS: Like designing steel structures to support a high-rise building.
VISUAL: Jaweed is working with two other students on the wiring of his robotic arm.
JAWEED SPEAKS: Or teaching a robot to see ... as well as navigate the space and move an object.
VISUAL: The robotic arm moves the block successfully. Jaweed and his team are excited that it works.
JOSIE SPEAKS: Or building a drone that can lift a heavy payload or survey the land.
VISUAL: Josie successfully attaches appropriate size propellers for her drone. Jaweed crosses the road in front of the RMIT City campus.
JAWEED SPEAKS: Engineering's pretty much professional problem solving.

VISUAL: Josie and another student walk into the industrial wind tunnel with their drones. They use remote controls to fly their drones, racing through the wind tunnel.
JOSIE SPEAKS: I learned about electronics by trying to make the fastest racing drone I could. Now, I get to test my design in the industrial wind tunnel. That's what I really love about RMIT ... it's hands-on learning with a purpose.

JAWEED SPEAKS: Thanks to my experience at RMIT, I got an internship which became a part-time job that I'm really passionate about. As a Junior Engineer at Crusader Caravans, my focus is on making the manufacturing process more efficient. I even got to design a new layout for the entire production facility.
VISUAL: Claudia walks through the construction site of a high-rise building. She talks to a contractor and looks at plans.
CLAUDIA SPEAKS: I'm always amazed at how modern buildings can reach the sky. At Multiplex, I work with contractors on inspecting structural features. I love that we use innovation to make sure the building is safe, exceeding the highest standards.
VISUAL: Josie opens a large crate and takes out a first aid kit which she attaches to a large drone. She takes the drone out of the crate
JOSIE SPEAKS: Where others might see barriers and obstacles, engineers see an opportunity.
