Our global reputation has enabled us to attract world-leaders in key areas of science research. RMIT is ranked well above world standard in Physical Sciences, Analytical Chemistry, Materials Chemistry, Environmental Science and Management, and Microbiology and above world standard in Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing, Distributed Computing and Data Format.

We offer custom-built facilities designed to accommodate emerging fields of research, attract industry partners, drive innovation and support our multi-disciplinary approach to tackling problems.

Our researchers are active and leading members in a range of RMIT research centres, groups and wider research collaborations. The School also hosts a number of ARC Centres of Excellence as well as the RMIT Data Analytics Lab and the Australia-India Research Centre for Automation Software Engineering (AICAUSE).
