Our Departments

The School of Science is a community of over 260 talented and inspiring academic, research and professional staff in five academic Departments with expertise across the breadth of physical, natural and mathematical sciences.

Our staff conduct world-leading innovative and applied research providing impactful solutions for industry, society and our planet.

We provide transformative learning opportunities in our teaching preparing our students for their future careers building work-ready industry-relevant skills in concert with both strong disciplinary understanding and the ability to work in multi-disciplinary contexts and teams. Our teaching empowers our students using active, applied and authentic learning to equip our students with strong practical skills during experiential learning and in partnership with industry and business.

Our School and Department teams are creating and building a respectful inclusive, safe and supportive place of work and study promoting and celebrating diversity. We are also building and gaining from increased learning and understanding of Indigenous culture, knowledge and perspectives across science via our commitment to reconciliation and responsible practice.

We collaborate and partner nationally and globally in our research and education activities with leading universities, research organisations and with national and global business and industry.
