Placement Plus Digital Hub

Welcome to the RMIT Placement Plus Digital Hub, a resource for mentoring RMIT pre-service teachers (PSTs) in rural and regional schools. Find everything you need to support placements and develop your mentoring practice.

RMIT’s Placements Plus programs are proudly supported by the Victorian Department of Education. Our projects in the Ovens Murray and Goulburn Valley regions of Victoria foster strong partnerships between the RMIT School of Education and Victorian government schools, delivering enhanced placements for RMIT pre-service teachers (PSTs).

RMIT students in these host schools benefit from tailored wraparound support throughout their placements, including school visits, professional learning, and opportunities to connect with peers and the local school community. Host schools also receive customised support, such as additional professional learning for mentor teachers.

RMIT is proud that these projects have supported the development of ongoing partnerships with schools in these communities. By working collaboratively with our host schools, we continue to raise awareness of the value of teaching in regional areas, showcasing it as a rewarding career opportunity for our graduates.

To further support our school communities, we have developed the RMIT Placement Plus Digital Hub, an online platform offering a wide range of resources for host schools, mentor teachers, and RMIT pre-service teachers. The Digital Hub provides easy access to materials that support the placement experience and enhance professional learning, including guidance on mentoring and teaching across different discipline areas.

Acknowledging our regional school partners

RMIT School of Education is especially grateful to our host schools in the Ovens Murray and Goulburn areas for their ongoing support and valuable advice on effective information sharing. We also appreciate the principals and teachers who have generously contributed their time and expertise to develop the learning materials available on this hub.
