Validation of safety culture maturity model and safety climate assessment tool

Summary

The validation of both the WHS Culture Maturity Model and Climate Assessment Tool was undertaken.

The validation process was undertaken in a three phased approach – the first included a series of workshops with members of the ACA membership, RMIT industry advisory panel and lower tier providers to review the components of the Maturity Model and its levels of progression. The second phase entailed a pilot study of the WHS Assessment Tool to construction workers on several work sites. The third phase was the development of a technical report that detailed the results of the validation exercise.
