PhD Scholarship in the Discovery of New Inhibitors for Steel

Work with a major European company and RMIT to discover new green inhibitors for steel. Combine rapid and robotic experimentation methods with advanced electrochemistry to explore molecular surface interactions.

The successful candidate will investigate an ability of a wide range of small hetero-cyclic molecules to inhibit corrosion on steel. You will employ both high throughput methods and deeper analytical methods to firstly discover and then define the mechanisms of corrosion inhibition.

$31,700  for 3 years with a possibility of an extension for 6 months.
