SHINe PhD scholarship in automation in construction: Work health and safety considerations

The scholarship will support a student engaged in doctoral research into the work health and safety considerations associated with automation and technological innovation in project-based construction work.

The successful candidate will work with SHINe members (industry partners) to engage in research that answers the following questions:

  • How can digital innovation and automation be integrated into work systems in ways that improve workers’ health and safety?
  • What potential new hazards can be introduced by the integration and adoption of these technologies?
  • How can these hazards be effectively managed to minimise harm?

2026 – $36,963 

2027 – $38,072 

2028 – $39,214 

2029 – $20,195 (6 months)

The successful candidate will hold a Masters Degree in work health and safety (or a closely related discipline) and will have research experience and publications.
