PhD scholarship in intelligent energy efficient protected cropping

The ARC Research Hub for Intelligent Energy Efficiency in Future Protected Cropping (E2Crop), started in 2025 as a multidisciplinary research team of 4 universities and 12 industry partners.

It aims to pioneer solutions in renewable energy, plant quality enhancement, intelligent greenhouse monitoring and analysis to drive forward the vast potential of protected cropping and secure our future food supply.

We are looking for a motivated PhD student to work on a project that will involve energy modelling, materials research, optical design optimisation, prototype development, and field testing to assess plant growth, energy generation capabilities and parasitic energy usage to maintain optimal growing environments in greenhouses.

$40,000 AUD.
