RMIT European Union Centre of Excellence Hosting Guest Seminar: Poland and the Russia-Ukraine War

Join us for a FREE seminar discussing Poland's perspectives on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Hosted by the RMIT European Union Centre of Excellence, we are proud to invite you to this free public seminar to hear from our distinguished guest.

Since 24 February 2022 Poland has massively supported Ukraine in its war against Russia. This concerned Polish authorities, but also Polish society and other actors (such as universities). Polish support for Ukraine can be explained by two complementary factors. First, close political and people-to-people contacts between the two countries. Second, a clear awareness of the gravity of the Russian threat. Guest speaker Professor Andrzej Szeptycki will speak to the Polish Government’s policies on Science and Higher Education, and possible collaboration with Australia.

Speaker

Professor Andrzej Szeptycki - Polish Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education

Professor Szeptycki is the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education in Poland. He was educated as a political scientist and has worked as a research fellow at the Polish institute of International Affairs and as an academic in the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies in the University of Warsaw.
