IMPORTANT NOTE

  • Please note that refund requests submitted after close of business 9 December 2025 (Australian time) will be processed in the new year due to the end of financial year and Christmas and New Year holiday period.

     

  • Submit one application only: Multiple applications can override our automated system and will delay processing.
  • Allow processing time: We aim to process refunds within 20 business days.
  • Click "submit" at the end to ensure we receive your application for refund.

Student status 


I am an international student who is applying for or holding a student visa and : 

If you are an international student who;
- completed one or more semester/s of study, OR
- is continuing with enrolment in your first semester and want to apply for a refund of an overpayment, OR
- enrolled in any semester of a program and have been approved a leave of absence.
Please use complete and submit the Domestic and international refund form.  

If you have cancelled due to debt, you should have received a communication advising you to submit the refund due to cancellation of enrolment form.

First Middle Last. Note to Agents: There have been several cases of student ID and DOB, and supporting document mixed up. Please ensure to check Student ID and DOB of your students are entered correctly and supporting document belong to the right student.

Payment to an international bank - Processing may take up to 6 weeks
  • If your refund is approved, RMIT will email you instructions and a unique link to the Convera payment portal.
  • Click the link to fill out a Convera refund form and enter  your nominated international bank account details. 
  • Complete the Convera refund form within 5 days.
  • If you don’t complete it in time, the link will expire and your refund will be delayed.
  • You must check with your bank about the corresponding currency before completing Convera refund form to avoid refund being return to RMIT. 
Note: RMIT is not responsible for any currency variance in foreign exchange rates or bank fees.

  1. RMIT University does not accept responsibility for any fluctuations in foreign exchange rates. I acknowledge and accept that both the amount paid and the refund received may be subject to variation due to the prevailing exchange rate at the time the refund is processed and transferred to my nominated international bank account.
  2. RMIT University has engaged Convera as its authorised payment provider to facilitate the processing of international student tuition fee refunds. I authorise RMIT University to share my information with Convera for the sole purpose of processing my refund. 
  3. I understand that any amount paid by credit card via Enrolment Online or the RMIT application portal within the past 12 months will be refunded to that card and will override any bank account selection on this form. 
  4. I declare that the information on this form is true and correct and that it is my responsibility to provide all the necessary documentation to support my request for refund. 
  5. I undertake that I copied and attached the identification page of my passport/ID card to this document.
  6. I acknowledge that my passport verifies that I am the signatory to this document.
  7. I authorise the third party/agent to electronically submit this completed form to RMIT. 
  8. If I have requested that my refund is paid to a third party, I agree that by signing this request, I have authorised RMIT to pay my eligible refund as directed above. I understand that RMIT is not responsible if I do not receive the refund from the nominated third party bank account holder. 
  9. If I require any changes to be made, I will inform RMIT of these changes in writing. 
  10. I request that, in accordance with the RMIT's Refund Procedure, any outstanding fees and charges owing to RMIT be deducted from the credit amount before any refund is paid. 
  11. I understand I will receive a refund only if an amount remains in credit after all outstanding fees and charges have been paid in full. 
  12. I agree that my refund will be made in AUD unless an alternative currency is required for a successful transfer of funds. 
  13. I acknowledge that this refund application will be processed in accordance with RMIT Policy, applicable Approved Schedule of Fees and Charges, which I have read and understood. 
  14. I understand that charges may apply in accordance with the relevant Refund Policy and that these charges will be deducted from my refund before it is paid. 
  15. The purposes for which the information is collected on this form is solely for the refund assessment. 
  16. If you do not provide inadequate information or supporting documentation, the assessment of your refund will be delayed.
  17. If you do not provide requested information within 10 business days, the refund case will be closed. You will be required to submit a new application for refund for assessment.
