RMIT UP Fast Track meets the requirements for a university pathway course registered on CRICOS for delivery in Australia.
The Australian Year 12 comparable curriculum is designed for overseas students looking to build academic, English, and study skills required for university success.
Fast Track is delivered over one semester.
You will study four subjects with five contact hours per subject each week (20 hours in total scheduled study per week).
The Fast Track curriculum encourages you to explore new ideas and consider your own place and purpose in an increasingly interconnected and interdependent world.
Assessments are designed to connect learning with current real-world scenarios, and can be structured as written or oral, and as independent or group activities.
Our learning activities promote engagement and are designed to build your confidence to think critically and creatively, to reason and to problem solve.

The types of classes you have will depend on the course you’re studying. Classes are offered in various formats designed to provide meaningful engagement with staff, industry and peers and provide for access and use of spaces where learning can be applied and active, including an array of specialised equipment.
Most RMIT courses do not include passive large-scale classes such as lectures, instead the content traditionally provided in lectures is made available online. This may be in the form of readings, videos or other on-demand learning materials. This content will also support the basis of interactive learning that takes place in on-campus classes.

Throughout Fast Track, you will become an independent and collaborative student. Through reading, creative projects, and research and analysis, you will develop your own ideas and build the confidence to communicate them. You will learn to communicate clearly, logically and creatively, and build strong arguments and explanations for complex subjects and topics. The various digital tools and technologies you use in this course will also be used throughout your further studies and future career.

You must have successfully completed a senior secondary school qualification equal to an Australian Year 11 with a minimum overall average of 70%. To determine your equivalent high school qualification to an Australian Year 11, or whether certified forecast or provisional results are accepted, please check relevant country requirements at RMIT Country Equivalency.
Meeting the minimum academic requirements does not guarantee entry. Your application will still need to be assessed and accepted.

Fast Track at RMIT offers you pathways into higher study at undergraduate level.
You may also be eligible to enter a higher education program in an unrelated discipline after completing your Fast Track course, provided your final results meet the program’s entry requirements, including any prerequisite subjects and additional selection tasks (if applicable).
The total indicative tuition fee for 2026 commencement is AU$23,000.
If you are undertaking Foundation Studies Art, Design and Architecture stream, you are required to purchase the Art, Design and Architecture materials kit to complete required assessment tasks during your program.
The cost of this material kit in 2026 is approximately AU$598.69. This includes a 20% discount.
If you are undertaking any mathematics courses, you will be required to have a Ti-Nspire CX II CAS Graphing Calculator.
This can be purchased from Officeworks. In 2026 the cost will be approximately AU$250.

In addition to tuition fees, you will be charged an annual student services and amenities fee (SSAF), which is used to maintain and enhance services and amenities that improve your experience as an RMIT student.
The SSAF is calculated based on your enrolment load and the maximum fee for 2026 is $373.
