The Enterprise Trainer-Presenting Skill Set is designed to prepare you to deliver vocational education units of competency, for work that mainly takes place in classroom situations.
It is suitable for people from across a range of industries wanting to deliver accredited or non-accredited training, in roles that may also involve some coaching at individual or small group levels.
This nationally recognised qualification is competency-based, which means it is designed to enable you to develop the practical skills and knowledge (AKA competency) needed to perform the duties and tasks in the job for which you are training.
This program supports you in the development of a range of Foundation Skills that are fundamental to your effective participation in the workplace, in the community, and in education and training. These Foundation Skills are a combination of language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) and employability skills.
Students entering this program must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.
Upon successful completion of this skill set, you’ll be able to enrol in the fast-track version of Certificate IV Training and Assessment.

This intensive program is run during the day on campus (RMIT city campus) over two days. This workshop is tutorial-based, and you’ll learn to collaborate in different contexts and participate in simulated activities.
Additionally, you will attend two weekly support workshops – each with a duration of three hours – designed to assist you with assessments and any queries you may have.
This structure supports participants working in the industry to undertake the qualification and study and minimises time away from work responsibilities.

Feedback from work supervisors and others in the workplace can be used as evidence for assessment of competence, and on request, an RMIT University assessor may visit your workplace to observe and assess your work practice and competence.
The types of classes you have will depend on the course you’re studying. Classes are offered in various formats designed to provide meaningful engagement with staff, industry and peers and provide for access and use of spaces where learning can be applied and active, including an array of specialised equipment.
Most RMIT courses do not include passive large-scale classes such as lectures, instead the content traditionally provided in lectures is made available online. This may be in the form of readings, videos or other on-demand learning materials. This content will also support the basis of interactive learning that takes place in on-campus classes.

In addition, you can progress to the Fast Track Certificate IV in Training and Assessment so you can become fully qualified as a vocational trainer and assessor.
You need to satisfy all of the following academic (entry) requirements to be considered for entry into this course.

Statement of Attainment or transcript of results showing successful completion of previous vocational education studies Certificate II or above.

A letter of support from an employer outlining experience and/or requirements to provide training.

Sufficient work experience in nominated teaching and assessing area as demonstrated by a detailed CV.
There are no prerequisite subjects required for entry into this qualification.
A selection task is not required for entry into this qualification.
You must meet the University's minimum English language requirements to be eligible for a place in this program.
Undertaking a certificate, diploma, advanced diploma or associate degree can help you meet the entry requirements for your preferred degree. These qualifications often provide credit, reducing the duration of your bachelor degree.

Credit, recognition of prior learning, professional experience and accreditation from a professional body can reduce the duration of your study by acknowledging your earlier, relevant experience.

**The Victorian Government is currently waiving three (3) eligibility criteria around prior qualifications. This means that more people who want to study a vocational education program at RMIT, and who have studied previously, will be able to access a government subsidised place in a program. In addition to tuition fees, you will be charged an annual student services and amenities fee (SSAF), which is used to maintain and enhance services and amenities that improve your experience as an RMIT student.
The SSAF is calculated based on your enrolment load and the maximum fee for 2024 is $351.

You may also be required to purchase other items related to your program, including field trips, textbooks and equipment. These additional fees and expenses vary from program to program.
You may be entitled to apply for a fee concession or exemption if you are in a Victorian Government subsidised place and you meet the eligibility criteria.
If your application for a fee concession is approved, you will be charged 20% of the standard government subsidised tuition fee for your program. You will also be charged a lower rate on your student services and amenities fee (SSAF).
