About this minor

If you are interested in app design or development, even if you have no previous coding experience, then this minor is a perfect way to develop your skills and enhance your career opportunities.

Open to any student across RMIT with an interest in designing and developing apps for the Apple Platforms, including iPhone, iPad and Mac, this minor will teach you the skills you need to build your own app.

No previous coding experience or prerequisites are required for this minor. Students from any discipline or background are eligible to enrol.

Structure for the minor

Run in partnership with the Hub for Apple Platform Innovation (HAPI), this minor consists of 4 units, in which you will focus your studies on UI/UX design, basic programming, and a human-centred approach to design solutions for the Apple platform.

The culmination of this minor is a project that gives you the opportunity to build your own app for the App store.

Subjects you'll study (48 credit points)

The Design & Develop for Apple Platform minor is comprised of the following:

  • COSC3099 UI and UX for Apple Platform
  • COSC3100 Getting Started with iOS App Development
  • COSC3101 Human-Centred Development with Apple Platform Technologies
  • COSC3102 Apple Platform Project

Who can enrol in this minor?

This minor is available to any student across RMIT currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree who has an interest in developing apps for the Apple platforms.
