About RMIT UP Student Ambassador Program

The RMIT UP's Student Ambassador Program helps you connect with other like-minded students and get involved in campus life.

You’ll work alongside our Student Experience Team at social events, field trips, BBQ’s and lots more. It will give you the opportunity to develop your customer service, leadership and team building skills by getting hands-on volunteer experience.

You’ll be involved in planning and programming the Student Experience activities by contributing your creative ideas. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to our social media channels to promote RMIT UP to a global audience.

The Student Ambassador Program has given me opportunities to improve my public speaking skills, meet new people from different cultures and make lifelong friends.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your Ambassadorship will last for one semester. This may be February - June or July - December. If you want to continue for more than one semester you’re most welcome to apply again.

We generally recruit around 6-10 Ambassadors each semester.

Ambassadors help plan, organise and delivery activities and events for all students at RMIT UP. For example, you might help us plan a calendar of activities for a month, cook sausages on a BBQ, or help plan a student party.

They also help bridge the gap between the Student Experience team and the greater student body by promoting activities to students. This might be on social media or through informal chats in class.

You will learn new skills, for example, video editing, make new friends (Ambassadors often find their besties in the program), become more confident and a better leader, get the feel-good vibes that come with volunteering, and above all, you’ll have fun! You’ll also get free or discounted entry to activities and some free merch!
