From early 2026, the Regenerative Futures Institute is offering an interdisciplinary minor to select RMIT students, as well as short courses for industry partners and adult workers.

Our courses cover a broad range of topics related to regenerative practices and sustainability innovation. They will equip learners who aspire to go beyond sustainability and actively contribute to solutions for the future. 

Interdisciplinary minor

From Semester 1 2026, RMIT undergraduate students in 10 selected programs can study an interdisciplinary minor in Regenerative Futures. 

By choosing this minor, you will learn to think systemically, collaborate effectively, and lead regenerative projects across diverse fields such as design, business, IT, engineering, international studies, and the creative arts.

Short courses

A suite of interdisciplinary short courses, including a two-day intensive experience, will cover a broad range of topics focussed on regenerative practices and sustainability innovation.  

Courses will be available for enrolment from early 2026. 

Explore the themes of short courses that will be available from early 2026

  • Regenerative Systems Thinking: Develop language and skills for regenerative, systems-based thinking to apply across diverse disciplines and contexts, addressing sustainability challenges.
  • Regenerative Strategies and Ethics: Explore sustainable business models, ethical AI impacts, and circular economy designs to drive transformative change using diverse frameworks, including Indigenous perspectives.
  • Innovative Materials and Design: Investigate biomaterials, biofabrication, and regenerative design for creating sustainable solutions and resilient built environments.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Gain skills to lead regenerative change in organisations and communities, focusing on real-world projects and industry partnerships to tackle planetary challenges.
  • Education and Communication: Enhance eco-literacy, storytelling, and engagement methods to communicate complex environmental ideas, fostering social equity and inclusive futures.
