Alumni from New York city and surrounding areas gathered in Manhattan as RMIT launched a renewed focus on strengthening connections with its global alumni community.
The cocktail reception, hosted by the Asia Society on Park Avenue, marked RMIT's first dedicated alumni event in New York in more than a decade and the beginning of a new chapter in international alumni engagement.
RMIT Vice-Chancellor Professor Alec Cameron, Chief Advancement Officer Jo Watts and Vice-President, Engagement Michelle King attended the event and met graduates from a diverse range of industries and generations.
"It was a great evening of reconnection and engagement with members of our New York Community," said Jo Watts.

Professor Cameron welcomed guests and shared updates on RMIT's strategic priorities, global partnerships and growing international impact, while encouraging alumni to stay connected with the University and each other.
As RMIT continues to expand its influence through research, industry collaboration and international partnerships, the University is also investing in deeper relationships with the thousands of graduates living and working around the world.
The alumni at the event reflected the breadth of disciplines taught at RMIT.
"Artists, bankers, entrepreneurs, communications specialists, business leaders, architects and scientists were among those in attendance," said Jo Watts.
"We had people in the room who had been in New York for more than 25 years, while others had arrived only weeks earlier. Regardless of where they were in their journey, everyone was interested in staying connected, which was incredibly exciting."
The event demonstrated the strength of RMIT's international alumni network and the appetite for meaningful engagement. Alumni are making an impact in communities and industries around the world, and they remain an important part of the RMIT story.
The strong turnout and enthusiastic response have reinforced RMIT's commitment to creating more opportunities for alumni around the world to connect, collaborate and remain part of the University's global community.
