Translational Immunology and Nanotechnology
Combining technology and immunology for direct translation in human medicine and general health.
The TIN Theme (TINT) began in 2019, led by Dist. Prof. Magdalena Plebanski, as a world-class translational research program, driving innovation in omics/precision medicine, nanotechnology and point-of-care devices.
TINT focuses on conditions with dysregulated immunity and inflammation, across four research groups:
TINT’s individual research groups each have a history of success in obtaining competitive local and international funding (e.g. ARC, NHMRC, NIH, JDRF), and collaboration with industry. They have an outstanding publication record including such journals as: The Lancet, Nature, Science, Nature Biotechnology, Immunity, Circulation and Nature Medicine amongst many others. TINT labs have also successfully supervised many PhDs, who went on to great careers in academia or industry. PhD scholarships are currently available. TINT welcomes Honours and Masters student enquiries.
TINT comprises of four research groups, each led by researchers at the top of their fields.
