2023 Higinbotham Lecture with The Hon Mark Dreyfus KC MP

Please join us to hear from the Hon Mark Dreyfus KC MP at the 2023 Higinbotham Lecture at the Capitol Theatre on 27 September 2023, where he will talk about 'The Referendum on an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament'.

On 23 March 2023, the Prime Minister, the Hon Anthony Albanese MP, announced the constitutional amendment and question, which will be put to all Australians at a referendum that will be held later this year.

In the referendum, all Australians will be asked whether to alter the Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice.
