Celebrate Birrarangga Film Festival with a special event taking place at RMIT's The Capitol featuring a live performance from Stan Walker

RMIT University is thrilled to partner with Birrarangga Film Festival for their Centrepiece Gala, featuring a screening of ORIGIN and a live performance from Stan Walker.

Written and directed by Academy Award nominee Ava DuVernay (Selma), ORIGIN chronicles the tragedy and triumph of Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Isabel Wilkerson as she investigates the global phenomenon of caste systems across several continents. Portrayed by Academy Award nominee Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor (King Richard), Isabel experiences unfathomable personal loss and love as she crosses continents and cultures to craft one of the defining American books of our time.

This special event will also feature the short film JUST BENEATH THE SURFACE, and a live performance by Stan Walker concluding the film screening, followed by a Q & A with Birrarangga festival director Tony Briggs and performer Stan Walker.

RMIT University is honoured to again partner with Birrarangga Film Festival in 2025.
