Join us for a 4K restoration, 25th Anniversary screening of Wong Kar Wai's 'In the Mood for Love'.

RMIT presents Wong Kar Wai's 'In the Mood for Love' in glorious 4K, paired with a previously unseen short film from Wong Kar Wai called 'In the Mood for Love 2001', in a special 25th anniversary screening not to be missed.

Remaining one of cinema's most exquisite portrayals of yearning, restraint, and unspoken connection, the film follows the budding relationship between Chow Mo-Wan (Tony Leung Chiu Wai) and Su Li-Zhen (Maggie Cheung Man Yuk), neighbours who discover an unsettling truth about their absent spouses.

With its lush cinematography and haunting soundtrack, 'In the Mood for Love' is a masterpiece of atmosphere. Ranked #5 in Sight and Sound's 2022 Greatest Films of All Time poll – up from #24 in 2012 – the film continues to resonate with new generations of audiences, and Tony Leung's subtle performance earned him Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival.

Join us for this special screening curated by RMIT's Dr Alexia Kannas – a celebration of cinematic longing, a love letter to Hong Kong, and the eternal pull of 'will they, won't they.'

Presented by RMIT Culture in partnership with RMIT Cinema Studies.

'Portable Stillness' (2025), is an ongoing spatial installation that explores how the making of miniature objects and floating altar-like displays can express memory, collection, and the domestic in transition. Motivated by the instability of diasporic living and continual relocation, Ko Jou Chen constructs handmade structures that carry memory and presence across her shifting environments.
