Drawing on field recordings featured in Future Sonic Ecologies, participants engage in deep listening exercises that attune them to the layered rhythms of mangrove worlds—tides, wind, animal activity, and distant human infrastructures. Through guided prompts and writing experiments, attendees transform sonic impressions into creative texts that reflect ecological change, interdependence and regenerative futures.
The session concludes with an optional sharing circle, inviting participants to voice their pieces and consider how creative writing can deepen environmental awareness. What stories emerge when we let the sonic world speak first?
This public program is presented by RMIT University as part of the exhibition 'Future Sonic Ecologies" at First Site Gallery.
