Dr Jianxia Zhai completed her PhD at Monash University, Australia, and undertook postdoctoral research fellow training in the Faculty of Health at Charles Darwin University. She is an accomplished academic with a strong commitment to advancing nursing education, clinical practice, and health research.
Dr Zhai has extensive experience in teaching and curriculum development across both undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programs, where she integrates evidence-based practice with innovative, student-centred learning approaches. Her research expertise spans qualitative methodologies such as narrative inquiry, phenomenology, and grounded theory, as well as quantitative and mixed-methods designs.
Her scholarly contributions focus on mental health, supportive and palliative care, PTG, oncology nursing, chronic disease self-management, and addressing unmet needs among culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) populations. She has published more than 20 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has served as a primary or key investigator on eight funded research projects.
With a passion for bridging research, education, and clinical practice, Dr Zhai is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of nurses and advancing innovative, inclusive, and compassionate models of care.
