About

Seyed Mojib Zahraee is a Lecturer at the RMIT School of Engineering within the Department of Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Mechatronic (MMM) Engineering. He completed his PhD at RMIT University in 2022 and has been actively involved in teaching and course coordination within the School of Engineering since early 2024. Since 2019, he has also contributed as a research assistant on multidisciplinary funded projects at RMIT University.

He has extensive teaching experience at RMIT University across both undergraduate and postgraduate programs within the School of Engineering. His teaching activities have included delivering lectures, tutorials, workshops, and assessment support in three large cohort systems engineering courses, integrated logistics support, and risk management. He has also undertaken several course coordination roles, including Systems Engineering Principles (MIET2385)Risk Management and Feasibility (MANU1051), and Integrated Logistics Support Management (MANU2117). Through these roles, he has led curriculum delivery, assessment design, teaching team coordination, and continuous course improvement, with a strong focus on creating engaging, industry-relevant, and student-centred learning experiences.

With over a decade of research experience, Seyed’s expertise spans industrial and systems engineering, biomass and renewable energy supply chains, production systems, supply chain management, transportation and logistics, and sustainability.

His contributions have earned him recognition among the top 2% of scientists worldwide (2020–2025), as identified by Stanford University and published by Elsevier. He is also recognised among the World's Top 5% Scientists in the 2025 SciRank Global Registry, based on independent bibliometric analysis of global research productivity and impact. In recognition of his academic achievements—including high-impact publications, extensive international research experience, and multiple awards—he was granted an Australia Global Talent Visa in the energy sector.

According to the 2024 ScholarGPS rankings, his publication record and research impact place him in the top 0.5% of scholars worldwide. His contributions to biomass research have ranked him #14 in Australia and #407 globally over the past five years.

Seyed’s current research focuses on industrial and systems engineering, biomass and hydrogen supply chains, sustainability and risk assessment, renewable energy systems, optimisation and operations management, lean manufacturing, transportation and logistics, and environmental emissions analysis. He is also an active peer reviewer, having reviewed more than 350 papers for leading international journals, particularly in the energy domain.
