Dr Ali Zolghadr is a Lecturer in the School of Property, Construction and Project Management at RMIT University. His research focuses on housing, construction, and infrastructure systems, with particular emphasis on housing supply, construction industry capacity, infrastructure delivery. Drawing on systems thinking, system dynamics, and simulation modelling, his work seeks to better understand the complex interactions between policy, industry, markets, and institutions that shape outcomes across the built environment sector.
He collaborates closely with industry, government, and academic partners on nationally significant research projects and has contributed to securing nearly A$1 million in competitive research funding. His research has informed policy discussions and industry practice through the development of innovative analytical frameworks and simulation models that support evidence-based decision-making.
In addition to his research activities, Ali is passionate about teaching and learning innovation. He has a strong interest in digitally enhanced teaching and the integration of emerging technologies into higher education to improve student engagement, learning outcomes, and educational experiences. Through his research, industry engagement, and teaching practice, he aims to bridge the gap between academia, policy, and professional practice to support more effective, sustainable, and resilient built environment outcomes.
