In addition to the Melbourne Graduation Ceremony held annually, RMIT holds graduation ceremonies outside Australia. For dates, costs and application deadlines visit Graduation options.

If you choose to graduate at a ceremony this is when you will receive your testamur (certificate).

If you do not wish to attend a graduation ceremony, you can apply to graduate in absentia, which means your testamur will be sent to you by registered post. There is no fee to graduate in absentia but you must still apply to graduate.

How to graduate

In order to graduate you must apply to graduate approximately midway through your final year.

Please note:

  • You can only apply to graduate at one ceremony or in absentia.
  • If you miss the deadline for submitting your application you will have to wait until the following year to be conferred – alternatively you can graduate in absentia.
  • If you have not completed your program requirements or owe a financial debt to the University you will not be able to graduate.
