RUSU and Just Food Collective are hosting a (Learn how to) Pickle Party for RMIT students, teaching simple vegetable pickling techniques using local produce that's in season now.

Participants will learn how to make vinegar-based vegetable pickles using simple pantry ingredients and get to customise their own pickling spices to make their own jar of pickles to take home.

Using fresh, locally grown seasonal produce, attendees will prepare and take home their own jar of pickles, along with a pickling guide to recreate the process at home.

Attendees will be introduced to this age-old food preservation method in a fun, friendly environment that is suitable for people of any level of cooking skills.

RUSU will also be providing a $5 Realfoods Canteen meal voucher for every participant, making it an affordable and engaging way to learn sustainable food skills, reduce food waste, and connect with fellow students.
