RMIT’s Maths Bridging Programme is designed as a second chance for students who may have missed the required Maths Methods study score to enter an RMIT Science and Engineering degree.
This programme provides the knowledge, essential skills and support to students to bridge the gap between secondary school to tertiary education and receive a second round offer into your chosen RMIT Science or Engineering degree.
The Maths Bridging Programme runs between Monday 4 January – Friday 22 January
Teacher supported study for four hours a day
Students who receive 50% pass mark by Friday 22 January are eligible to receive a 2nd round offer into your nominated science or engineering degree
Cost is $400 (please note this is not CSP supported)
Students that complete the Maths Bridging Programme will receive a $500 RMIT Starter Pack upon enrolment into the nominated RMIT Engineering or Science degree.
Students must have completed units 3 & 4 of Maths Methods or higher
No minimum study score to enter the programme
Students must have received last year's lowest ATAR selection rank for their nominated science or engineering degree (remember that bonus points and adjustment factors can increase your ranking)
Students who have completed units 3 & 4 of Maths Methods or higher but have missed the prerequisite study score for their chosen RMIT science or engineering degree should apply for this programme.
First round offers from VTAC will have been made but once you finish the RMIT Maths Bridge Programme, you can reorder your preferences to be considered for Round Two offers. Be aware that you will receive one offer per offer round, this will be for your highest preference you are eligible for.
You will receive your grades for RMIT Maths Bridging after your assessment has been marked. You will receive a certificate with your grades.
Successful completion of the subject with a mark of at least 50% will be required for the subject to count as an equivalent prerequisite to VCE Maths Methods units 3 & 4 or higher at RMIT University.
Please note: RMITs Maths Bridging is only accepted by RMIT University. It is not accepted by other institutions.
