Postgraduate study options

Graduate certificates

A graduate certificate is a short postgraduate course developing specialised knowledge and skills in a specific area, typically taking six to twelve months of full- or part-time study available options.

Graduate diplomas

A graduate diploma provides advanced knowledge and skills in a specific field, offering deeper study than a graduate certificate but less than a master’s degree, typically one year full-time study.

Masters

A master’s degree is an advanced postgraduate qualification delivering specialist or professional training in a discipline or interdisciplinary area, often leading to accreditation or research pathways, typically one–two years full-time study.

Research programs

A PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) is the highest academic qualification involving original research that contributes new knowledge, typically taking three to four years full-time study, with part-time options taking longer completion.

Higher Degrees by Research (HDR)

HDR programs focus on independent, original research under expert supervision. You'll investigate a real‑world problem in depth and produce a thesis that contributes new knowledge in your field. HDR candidates are supported by experienced supervisors, research training, and access to world‑class facilities and industry partnerships.
