Basic entry requirements

Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) units 3 and 4:

  • a study score of at least 20 in English other than EAL; or
  • a study score of at least 23 in English as an Additional Language (EAL)

or equivalent studies.

Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) units 3 and 4:

  • a study score of at least 20 in any Mathematics

or equivalent studies.

Pathway requirement
Successful completion of RMIT's Associate Degree in Applied Science (Science option) guarantees entry into Bachelor of Science with 48 credit points of exemption (equivalent to 0.5 years full-time study). Upon completion of further Science option subjects, additional credit may apply to the following majors in the Bachelor of Science: - Biological Sciences or Biotechnology major and a generalist minor: 48 credit points (equivalent to 0.5 years full-time study) - Any major except physics and a generalist minor in Biosciences: 48 credit points (equivalent to 0.5 years full-time study) - Biological Sciences or Biotechnology major, with no generalist minor: 96 credit points (equivalent to 1 year full-time study) - Food Science & Technology major or generalist Minor: 24 credit points (equivalent to 0.25 years full-time study) - Nutrition major or generalist Minor: 36 credit points (equivalent to 0.375 years full-time study). Note: while the maximum credit that may be offered can total 144 credit points (equivalent to 1.5 years standard full-time study), the amount of time required to complete the remaining study may exceed 2 years.

To apply for a packaged pathway, you only need to submit one application. This covers all courses in the pathway — from your entry course through to your destination course.

Once you successfully complete each stage, you’ll automatically move into the next, without needing to apply again.

  • Start by applying for the entry course in this pathway. 
  • After successfully completing the entry course, you can apply for the next course, as long as you meet all the specified requirements.
