Fieldwork

Safety isn’t only a priority on campus – it’s also important for any staff or students undertaking fieldwork as part of their RMIT work or study.

Fieldwork is often done in environments where emergency services are not easily available, so it’s vital that any potential hazards are identified and controlled as far as reasonably practicable, and that appropriate communication, emergency, and COVID safe procedures are established.

Note that fieldwork does not include conferences, meetings, distance education, student exchange programs, offshore teaching, sabbaticals, visits to other institutions, or training courses.
