Education and training

The RMIT School of Media and Communication provides students with information integrity education, including courses in fact checking and verification to build resilience against misinformation. The Information Integrity Hub also offers training for industry, government and community-based organisations in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. For example, we help journalists and professional communicators understand how to use digital tools and resources to verify information. We directly engage with undergraduate and postgraduate journalism and communication students to teach them critical thinking skills to combat misinformation.

Study at RMIT University

Through our undergraduate and postgraduate journalism and communication programs we offer courses that prepare graduates to become informed, skilled and resourceful professionals in a digital media environment plagued by misinformation.

Bachelor of Communication (Journalism)

This program offers practical and theoretical knowledge to begin a career in journalism, in Australia or abroad.

Bachelor of Professional Communication

With majors in advertising, public relations and digital communication, this program offers the knowledge and skills to produce contemporary communication specialists who are creative, socially aware and multi-skilled.

Master of Communication

Through a curriculum delivered by a joint mix of academics and industry practitioners, this program builds strength in the fundamentals of communication theory and its real-world applications to prepare graduates for the changing world of communication.
