Double-Badge PhD at RMIT and UTwente

Complete a PhD in mathematical or geospatial sciences with the opportunity to do research abroad.

The School of Science at RMIT University together with The University of Twente, The Netherlands, has developed the Double-Badge PhD program. It allows candidates to undertake research from RMIT and UTwente, while being supervised by leading researchers from both institutes.

The University of Twente is located in Enschede, The Netherlands. Central to Paris, London and Berlin this program offers valuable networking opportunities across Europe.

Upon successful completion you will receive a single certificate awarded by both RMIT University and the University of Twente.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Double-Badge PhD program, students must:

  • receive a full-time offer in the Doctor of Philosophy (DR222 or DR223) program with RMIT’s School of Science\
  • be a recipient of a full scholarship or sponsorship
  • meet the University of Twente eligibility requirements and be accepted into a PhD program (a tuition fee scholarship will be awarded by the University of Twente)
  • find a suitable supervisor at the University of Twente (which we can assist you with).

Duration

3.5 years total with a minimum of 6 months spent with the University of Twente.

Financial assistance

Candidates will be eligible to apply for RMIT’s HDR Travel Grant whilst at either institutes.
