RMIT University’s Finance and Assurance portfolio plays a critical role in enabling informed decision-making, financial sustainability and strategic investment across the university. As a graduate in this portfolio, you’ll contribute to the financial health of a global institution, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term planning.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in the Finance Partnering Team and Central Finance Operations Team, working closely with stakeholders to deliver financial insights, support budgeting and forecasting, and ensure efficient financial processes. This might include preparing financial reports, analysing data to support strategic initiatives, assisting with compliance and assurance activities, and contributing to continuous improvement projects that enhance financial systems and service delivery.

In this role, you’ll build practical skills in financial analysis, stakeholder engagement, operational finance and strategic planning – while gaining a deep understanding of how finance enables innovation, growth and impact across the university. It’s a unique opportunity to develop your career in a purpose-driven environment where numbers tell the story of transformation.

RMIT University’s Health, Safety and Risk team is the driving force behind a safe, respectful and resilient campus culture. This end-to-end function defines and delivers health, safety and risk strategies and gender-base violence prevention initiatives, while providing consolidated oversight of RMIT’s overall risk profile across all campuses – locally and globally.

As a graduate in this portfolio, you’ll contribute to initiatives that promote physical safety, respectful relationships, and proactive risk management. You might support incident investigations, help coordinate campus security operations, assist with risk assessments, or contribute to prevention programs that address harm, discrimination and misconduct.

As a graduate within RMIT’s Information Technology Services (ITS), you’ll be part of the team that powers the university’s digital ecosystem. ITS delivers innovative and secure technology solutions that support RMIT’s teaching, research, and operations – locally and globally. With a vision to 'unleash technologies to enable great experiences for RMIT communities,' ITS plays a critical role in shaping the university’s digital future.

In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience working across enterprise platforms, supporting digital transformation projects, and contributing to the design and delivery of cutting-edge technology services. You’ll collaborate with teams across the university to enhance user experiences, improve systems, and help drive RMIT’s commitment to lifelong learning through technology.

RMIT University is delivering its ambitious nine-year strategy, Knowledge with Action, with a focus on strengthening its international engagement and impact.

As a graduate in RMIT’s International portfolio, you will support the development of international partnerships, assist with events and stakeholder communications, and contribute to projects that enhance RMIT’s regional presence. You’ll work closely with our onshore and offshore teams, including our flagship Vietnam campus, gaining experience across initiatives like the RMIT Asia Hub and the Australia Vietnam Policy Institute, and our network of international partners.

In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience by preparing briefing notes, coordinating meetings, supporting research, and helping deliver regional engagement events and activities. This is a unique opportunity to build your skills in international engagement, public policy, and higher education strategy at a globally connected university.

RMIT University’s Operations portfolio plays a vital role in enabling the university’s day to day success – supporting students, academics and staff through seamless service delivery and strategic planning. As a graduate in this portfolio, you’ll gain insight into the complex systems and processes that keep the university running, while contributing to initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and long-term sustainability.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across diverse areas such as campus operations, financial and infrastructure planning, service delivery, and strategic projects. This might include supporting initiatives that improve student and staff experiences, contributing to resource planning and operational frameworks, or assisting with cross-functional projects that align with RMIT’s broader strategic goals.

In this role, you’ll build practical skills in stakeholder engagement, strategic thinking and operational management – all while gaining a deep understanding of how a large, global university functions behind the scenes. It’s a unique opportunity to help shape the systems that support learning, research and innovation at scale.

Step two: Assessment centre and interviews

This is where the fun begins! Our assessment centre is your opportunity to engage with us directly and demonstrate your skills through interactive activities. You'll meet the RMIT Talent Team, Graduate Program Lead, and business leaders, giving you the perfect chance to ask questions and learn more about the graduate experience at RMIT. During the day, you'll also have a one-on-one with the area manager of your chosen stream to see how you fit into our team culture.

We believe feedback is essential for growth. Every candidate who participates in the assessment centre will have the opportunity to receive feedback, whether successful or not. We want you to learn and grow from this experience!

Eligibility

To be eligible for the RMIT Graduate Program, you must:

  • be a final-year RMIT student or an RMIT alumnus who has graduated within the past year; and
  • have completed a diploma, advanced diploma, undergraduate or postgraduate degree; and
  • be available to work full time from February 2026 to February 2027; and
  • meet one of the following Australian working rights criteria:
    • You are an Australian or New Zealand citizen; or
    • You hold an Australian permanent visa; or
    • You hold a temporary visa with unrestricted work rights at the commencement of the 2026 intake year for a term of 12 months or more (e.g. Temporary Graduate, secondary 457/TSS, provisional Partner visa)
    • Please note: Applications are also open to candidates currently on a restricted Student Visa, provided they will hold an unrestricted visa that is valid at the commencement of the program.
