Dr Ismail (Sol) Abdulhak (b. Lebanon, 1987) is a Lecturer and Program Manager for the Entrepreneurship Major at the School of Management at RMIT University. Sol completed his Doctorate in the field of Strategy and International Business at Monash University in 2021, where his research broadly focused on subsidiary level dynamic performance, institutional distance, and foreign ownership strategies. Sol's research interests also extend to the phenomenon of reshoring, (de)globalisation, innovation strategies and international entrepreneurship. His work has been published in Regional Studies (ABDC: A*) and Thunderbird International Business Review (ABDC: B).
In addition to research, Sol has 8 years of experience designing, coordinating and teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the areas entrepreneurship, strategic management and international business. He has been involved in several teaching innovations, including the integration of digitally immersive curriculum and developing a prescriptive process based approach to student-driven learning.
Sol is also an active member of his research community, where he served three years as a board member for the Academy of International Business (AIB) – Oceania Chapter. He has also been recognized for his outstanding performance as a reviewer, having received the Academy of International Business (AIB) Best Reviewer Award 2018.
