About

I am a Research Fellow at RMIT University working on the application of advanced air mobility (AAM) and zero-emissions aviation technologies to support Australia’s Net Zero 2050 objectives. This project evaluates the feasibility of electric- and hydrogen-powered aircraft, eVTOL systems, and freight drones to address structural inefficiencies in regional aviation. The research begins with an in-depth assessment of regional Victoria before extending to a national analysis.

My doctoral research in urban planning investigated the public transport travel behaviour of apartment residents in Greater Melbourne under urban consolidation policies. Using a sequential mixed methods design, I analysed large-scale travel survey data, conducted a targeted survey of apartment residents, and undertook semi-structured interviews. The findings demonstrate that while apartment residents show higher public transport use, proximity to transit infrastructure alone is insufficient to sustain frequent use; service quality, self-selection, and lived experience play central roles.

My broader research examines the relationships between urban form, transport systems, sustainability transitions, and resilience. I have published on density, travel behaviour, smart cities, COVID-19 and urban systems, and metropolitan spatial structure across Australian and international contexts.

Methodologically, I specialise in mixed methods research, spatial analysis (ArcGIS, QGIS), R-based statistical modelling, and qualitative analysis (NVivo), with a strong emphasis on policy-relevant urban and transport research.
