I’m a researcher and writer helping to design web3 business models and the decentralised digital economy. I’m the Deputy Director and Senior Research Fellow at the RMIT Blockchain Innovation Hub.
I have authored 4 books and 25 peer reviewed papers on topics including cryptodemocracy, blockchain innovation, token airdrops and web3 governance. I have published in journals such as Research Policy, the Harvard Negotiation Law Review and the Journal of Business Research. My work is deeply interdisciplinary, having been published in quality journals in economics, law, public administration and marketing. According to Google Scholar my work has been cited over 1800 times (H-index 19) and my papers on SSRN have been downloaded over 24,000 times (top 0.2% of authors).
My research is driven by applied problems and interesting questions. I have raised over $690,000 in research income from governments, corporates and foundations. I directly advise on the design of innovative digital infrastructure projects, and shape public policy around new technologies. I have appeared as an expert witness before 7 parliamentary inquiries in Australia, and I have written over 50 opinion pieces and policy reports. My commentary and research findings on innovation and regulation have appeared widely across the print and electronic media including in outlets such as The Australian, the Australian Financial Review, the Herald Sun and the Sydney Morning Herald. I have an award-winning PhD in economics.
