McMullen Nolan Group (MNG) Geospatial Science and Surveying Scholarship

For third and fourth year geospatial science and surveying students; worth $5,000.

This scholarship provides:

  • $5,000 for one year
  • an opportunity for casual employment (e.g., one day per week during semester) at MNG Survey
  • an opportunity to participate in a mentoring program with a senior team member

Note: McMullen Nolan Group (MNG) Geospatial Science and Surveying Scholarship is regarded as taxable income under taxation legislation as there is an opportunity to undertake paid work with the donor. We recommend that you obtain taxation advice from an accountant or the Australian Tax Office regarding this scholarship.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, an Australian permanent resident or a permanent humanitarian visa holder
  • be enrolling full-time in one of the following programs at RMIT in semester 1 and 2 2024: 
  • be in your third or fourth year of study in 2024
  • have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher at the end of semester 2 2023
  • be passionate about your studies and a career in geospatial science or surveying
  • be able to demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • be willing to participate in a mentoring program and paid casual work at MNG Survey
  • be available for an interview if shortlisted*.

Application questions

It is expected that the online application will take approximately thirty minutes to complete. The main application questions are listed below to allow you time to prepare your answers in advance prior to starting the online application.

  • Describe your two best academic achievements or learning experiences in your program thus far. 
  • Describe your interpersonal and team-building skills, providing at least two examples from you study and/or work life. 
  • What motivated you to choose your RMIT program? Include the steps you have taken to achieve your educational goals.
  • What are your future plans and career aspirations? 
  • Would you be willing to participate in paid work as part of your scholarship and if so, what would you like to achieve from this experience?
