ExxonMobil Engineering Scholarship for Excellence

For Bachelor of Engineering students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher in their penultimate year of study; worth $5,000 for one year.

The scholarship provides:

  • $5,000 for one year
  • An opportunity to participate in an interview for the 2024 ExxonMobil Internship Program.

Two scholarships available.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, an Australian permanent resident or a permanent humanitarian visa holder
  • be enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering program at RMIT
  • be in your penultimate (second last) year of study in 2023
  • have a Grade Point Average (GPA) to date of 3.0 or higher
  • be willing to participate in an interview, if shortlisted*
  • be willing to participate in a fast-tracked second-round interview for the 2024 ExxonMobil Internship Program.

The online application form will be made available here when applications open. 

Supporting documentation

Depending on your circumstances, you will need to provide different types of evidence and material to support your scholarship application. Applications without supporting documents will not be considered.

You will need:

  • A cover letter (no more than 1 page) describing why you would like to work for ExxonMobil.
  • A current curriculum vitae (CV) or resumé no more than two pages in length.

Application questions

It is expected that the online application will take approximately thirty minutes to complete. The main application questions are listed below to allow you time to prepare your answers in advance prior to starting the online application.

  • What motivated you to choose your RMIT program? Include the steps you have taken to achieve your educational goals.
  • What are your future plans and career aspirations?
  • Describe your leadership capability and communication skills.
  • Would you consider participating in the ExxonMobil 2024 internship program? Note: the program will run from Feb-Nov 2024.

The scholarship application process is highly competitive with a limited number of scholarships available. Unfortunately, not all eligible applicants will receive one.

Only successful candidates will be notified via email to their RMIT student account.
