If you are offered a Career Success WIL Grant, you must complete all the following activities within one month of finishing your WIL placement. Please note that payment will only be made once all activities have been completed within this timeframe. These additional tasks are designed to help you maximise the benefits of your WIL placement and further develop your employability skills. These activities are:

  • obtain a WIL Supervisor's report,
  • complete a brief written reflection,
  • update your resume to reflect your WIL experience, and
  • attend a 1:1 career meeting following your WIL placement to share your WIL reflections, review your tasks and discuss careers planning with a Career Consultant.

Once you have been offered a Career Success WIL Grant, you will be assigned to one of RMIT’s Career Consultants who will share the required documents and answer any questions regarding the careers activities you may have. You will also have your final 1:1 career meeting with this Consultant.

You must notify the Coursework Scholarships Office immediately if your placement dates change. Any change to your placement which results in it being withdrawn, cancelled, or your end date concluding after September 2026 will result in your grant being terminated.

If you receive any other grant or scholarship for your WIL placement (either before or after being offered this grant), this grant will be withdrawn.

By participating in a WIL placement, you will:

  • feel more confident and have a better understanding of successfully navigating the workplace in your chosen field,
  • obtain a deeper understanding of your potential career pathway to assist with your career decisions & goals,
  • develop career management skills that you will use throughout your career, and
  • increase your professional connections and network in your chosen field.
