This scholarship is valued at $5,000 for one semester with payments commencing for the successful recipient after census date in Semester 2.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:
- be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident
- be enrolled in Applied Heat and Mass Transfer (MIET2584) in Semester 2 2026
- be enrolled full-time in Semester 2 2026 in one of the following programs:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) (Honours) (BH070)
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) (Honours)/Bachelor of Business (Management) (BH089)
- Bachelor of Engineering (Sustainable Systems Engineering) (Honours)/Bachelor of Business (Management) (BH092)
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) (Honours)/Bachelor of Industrial Design (Honours) (BH093)
- have completed Applied Thermodynamics (MIET2421) and Fluid Mechanics of Mechanical Systems (MIET2422)
- be interested in a career as a refrigeration/air-conditioning/heating engineer

The RG Kayler-Thomson Memorial Scholarship was established by the late Marion Kayler-Thomson and is administered by the Australian Institute of Refrigeration Air Conditioning and Heating (AIRAH) in honour of her husband and son who worked in refrigeration engineering.
