Student services and amenities fee
Like all Australian education providers, RMIT administers a student services and amenities fee (SSAF) that is used to improve your student experience.
Like all Australian education providers, RMIT administers a student services and amenities fee (SSAF) that is used to improve your student experience.
Income from the SSAF can only be used to fund services and amenities that are on the Australian Government’s list of allowable items.
SSAF-funded student services and amenities may be provided directly by the University or by third parties, contracted under a service level agreement, such as the RMIT University Student Union (RUSU).
The money collected from the SSAF is used to fund:
- all RUSU activities, including student media, clubs and societies, events, campaigns and student rights, but excluding any activity of a party political nature
- all RMIT Link’s activity supporting student arts and culture, city fitness, and sport and recreation at RMIT
- selected services, amenities and student experience initiatives delivered by the University.
For more information, including which cohorts of students will be charged and to learn how students can influence how SSAF money is spent, visit the SSAF page on the Students website.
