Dr. Jessica Borg
Dr. Jessica Borg is a Lecturer of Organisation, Work and Management in the School of Management at RMIT University. She undertakes research in project management, work readiness, workplace transitions and professional development.
Dr. Jessica Borg is passionate about research that makes an impact on the working lives of professionals in today’s complex work environments. She is best known for her research on the work readiness and career readiness of early career project management professionals in under-researched contexts. Dr. Borg was awarded the prestigious Women in Project Management Scholarship by the Project Management Institute (PMI) for her academic achievements in the field. Her research has been published in leading project management journals and she has presented her research at international conferences and as an invited guest speaker at industry forums.
Dr. Borg continues to undertake research in the areas of workplace transitions, early career work readiness, management and professional development within project-based workplace contexts. She has provided consultancy services to industry and professional accreditation bodies in the areas of project management, graduate program development, professional development and managing workplace transitions.
Dr. Borg champions the importance of preparing management graduates for 21st century workplaces and through her research, teaching and engagement, strives to continue to contribute to fostering work readiness in the next generation of management practitioners in the RMIT School of Management.

Dr. Borg brings relevant industry experience to her academic position at RMIT, holding qualifications in Project Management and having worked in industry in both project management delivery and consultancy roles. In addition, Dr. Borg has provided consultancy services in the areas of graduate programs, work readiness and professional development to international and national management organisations. She maintains strong links with industry and is currently a global volunteer at the peak professional and accreditation body in the project management discipline — the Project Management Institute (PMI) — where she is part of the international PMI Next Generation Insight Team. Through her role, Dr. Borg works in partnership with PMI’s Academic Programs in support of building engagement opportunities for ‘Next Generation’ project managers worldwide.
In the university sector, Dr. Borg has taught a range of units at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels across five Australian Universities - The University of Melbourne, University of New South Wales Canberra, RMIT University, Deakin University and CQUniversity.
