About

Perrie Ballantyne is a strategic leader and practical facilitator of social innovation initiatives, with unique experience running programs, teams and enterprises in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and internationally.

Perrie has spent the past 20 years partnering with public institutions and leading social innovation agencies on complex and ambitious change programs, supporting creativity, collaboration and learning-by-doing across systems, sectors and localities. Bringing deep expertise in collaborative and participatory design practices (and drawing on adaptive leadership and systems thinking) Perrie works across varied contexts where different approaches are needed to address priorities and tackle entrenched challenges.

Perrie is currently a Visting Fellow at RMIT working alongside innovators in health, education and social care systems, running projects that support community creativity, agency and influence, and bring together different forms of knowledge, capability and energy for change.

Working in the UK for over 15 years, Perrie held senior roles at Innovation Unit Ltd, ThePublicOffice, Save the Children and Nesta (the UK's innovation foundation). Returning to Australia, she has worked with public and philanthropic institutions to develop strategies and approaches for social innovation, collaboration and research-into-action. She was previously Director at Innovation Unit ANZ (now ThirdStory) establishing a new team for the organisation in Melbourne.
