Grant Bradbeer is a mechatronics engineer and Research Associate at RMIT University's Moon to Mars Initiative Science and Technology research group. He is currently involved in two active lunar missions, ALEPH-1 and Australia's flagship lunar rover, Roo-ver. Within these projects he is responsible for several streams of development including; structural (vibration, shock) analysis and design (DFM, additive, subtractive, topology optimisation) of structures for operational and launch environments, payload assembly and integration, performing qualification and acceptance testing, as well as the development of ancillary electronics and hardware for testing platforms.
Grant's broader research interests include structures for spacecraft in deep space, cislunar space, and LEO. Outside of space, his interests also reach more broadly into terrestrial robotics for automation, robotic platforms for GNSS denied environments, and structural performance under harsh vibration environments.
