Equipment and facilities

The Department of Mathematical and Geospatial Sciences offers specialised equipment and facilities to support both learning and research.

Students and researchers have access to the latest tools for surveying, GIS, remote sensing, photogrammetry, 3D point cloud analysis, and other geospatial applications across our Melbourne City and Bundoora campuses. We offer a state-of-the-art virtual collaboration facility enabling productive and immersive and interactive engagement in research activities.

Our equipment and facilities

  • Surveying equipment, including:
    • Trimble and Lecia Total Stations,
    • Gyroscopic theodolites,
    • Trimble Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS)/GPS receivers, and
    • Digital levels.
  • Terrestrial Laser Scanners (TLS) – including Trimble TX6/TX8, Faro 3D, Lecia BLK360, Lecia MS60 and Hover-map.
