Research supervision
Dr Mohammad Alamgir Hossain is a Senior Lecturer in Information Systems at the School of Business IT and logistics (SBITL). Previously, he was an RMIT Vice Chancellor Postdoc Research Fellow at SBITL. He teaches information systems courses and supervise HDR students from the similar domain. Mohammad conducts research and publishes regularly in top-ranked journals.
Dr Mohammad Hossain has recently joined the School of Business IT and Logistics (SBITL), RMIT University as a Senior Lecturer in Information System. Prior to joining at this position, he was a Vice Chancellor Postdoc Research Fellow and Lecturer at SBITL. He also taught, as a full time academic, in Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia before joining RMIT. Dr Hossain received his PhD in Information Systems from Curtin University, Australia, with the Chancellor's commendation. His research interest includes technology diffusion, e-government, open government data (OGD), online group buying, social media and social inclusion, and Blockchain and ICT-enabled supply chain and had been publishing in these areas regularly. His papers appeared in leading IS journals including IT & People, Information Systems Frontiers, Journal of Organizational Computing and Electronic Commerce, and International Journal of Information Management. Recently, he started working in the IS-enabled supply chain domain and published in the International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management. Dr Hossain has published 14 A ranked and 7 B ranked (ABDC ranked) journal articles and several book chapters. He received a 2017 College of Business Research Grant to conduct research in OGD. In 2018, he was nominated for the College of Business research excellence award (for ECR category) by SBITL. Dr Hossain received the best paper award in 2016 IFIP WG 6.11 and 2013 IFIP WG 8.6 Conference. He is serving as a member of the editorial board of Journal of Enterprise Information Management; and the journal Transforming Government: People, Process, and Policy.
