Dr Dulani Halvitigala is an Associate Professor in the School of Property, Construction and Project Management at RMIT University, where she also serves as Program Manager for the undergraduate Property Development, Investment and Valuation program. She holds a PhD in Property from the University of Auckland (New Zealand), a Master’s in Real Estate from the National University of Singapore and Bachelor’s degree in Estate Management and Valuation from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (Sri Lanka). At RMIT, she teaches property valuation courses and plays a key role in curriculum development and academic leadership. Dr Halvitigala’s research is grounded in collaboration and real-world impact. She works across disciplines and institutions—partnering with colleagues from RMIT, other Australian and international universities, and industry stakeholders. Her work has attracted funding from national and international bodies, including the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI), Natural Hazards Research Australia (NHRA), Australian Property Institute (API), Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Strata Community Association of Victoria (SCAV), and internal grants from RMIT and PCPM. Her peer-reviewed publications contributes extensively to property and built environment research. Dr Halvitigala also plays an active role in academic publishing as Co-Editor of the Pacific Rim Property Research Journal and an Editorial Board Member for the Property Management Journal. She is a regular peer reviewer for leading journals in her field.
