About

Sam Hains is an artist-technologist and Associate Lecturer in RMIT University’s School of Design. Working across generative systems, speculative worldbuilding, games, and video installation, his practice explores memory, dreams, play, and human-machine relationships. He is a PhD candidate at Monash Art, Design and Architecture, where his creative research examines generative systems as medium for simulation and worldbuilding. Sam received the Grand Prize for Generative Art in the Optimism Foundation’s We Love The Art awards for Bullet Heaven. His work has been presented at Falmouth Art Gallery, The Wrong Biennale, CultureHub, and Galerie Yeche Lange, with projects and collaborations featured by VICE, PAPER and Bijutsu Techō.
